hi guys i usually download dvdrips as they are very good quality
but i wanted to download 2 movies which are new so i can only really find blue ray rips..

[1] does bdrip stand for blueray dvd rip?
    [2]what does TS stand for?
[3]what is a good quality tag if there is no DVDRIP

[4]if i download a blueray version insetad of DVDRIP, can i still just watch it with VLC player just like i could with dvdrip .avi's ?

[5]what is the extension type for blue ray files?

[6]if i burn it onto a normal dvd, can i watch on my normal dvd player (no blue ray) but it can play divx (all dvdrips .avi which i usually dl)

    cheers

a BDrip usually is encoded so the file size is smaller and from full HD 1080p to 720p. A BDrip can be burnt to DVD disc and quality is still good and it should still be watchable with VLC. TS stands for Telesync where its a more sharper CAM quality which is using a video camera and filming the whole film in the cinema. Its quality is a bit better than CAM but still blurry compared to other formats

    thanks for the reply,
i see about ts its pretty much a better version of cam

with that bdrip though, can i play it on my tv+dvdplayer(not a blueray dvd player)

also, whats the resolution of a normal dvdrip then? im assuming less than the 1080p-720p since blueray is meant to be higher quality?

because the problem is, there are no dvdrips, and i have no blueray dvd player at home
so if i download the bdrip, my dad cant watch it on his tv :S

    thanks

the file format would be mkv so your going to have to use a program like convertx to dvd to convert the movie then burn it to disc so it is readable by the dvd player. When your ripping a Blu-Ray movie to a smaller size, the quality would probably end up similar to that of DVD
